Dry cleaning refers to cleaning clothes without the use of water, hence the term “dry” cleaning. However, while water is not used in dry cleaning, a liquid cleaning solution is used to clean clothing, bedding and other fabrics. The clothing garments are completely immersed into this liquid cleaning solution.

The fundamental difference between dry cleaning and laundering is water; dry-cleaning does not use water, while laundering on the other hand, does.

 

The dry cleaning process is done with a non-water-based cleaning solvent  to remove stains and grease from clothing.

 

Laundry - also called wet cleaning - uses cleaning agents such as soaps, detergents, or softeners, along with water to remove any dirt from your clothing.

 

Another important difference is fabric. Dry cleaning is typically more gentle on fabrics and targets certain types of stains.

Not all fabrics are suited to dry cleaning. Check the care label, and let us know about any delicate details, trims or previous damage so we can assess the garment before cleaning.

Dry cleaning can remove many stains, but results depend on the fabric, the type of stain and how long it’s been there. Tell us what caused the stain if you know, and avoid rubbing or treating it at home before bringing it in.

Shirt Laundry or Wash, Dry, Fold? Learn the difference to get the most out of your account.
Shirt Laundry includes washing, drying and pressing of professional work shirts that are cotton or mostly cotton.

Laundered shirts are removed wet from the washers and put onto our state-of-the-art pressing equipment then they hand finished and inspected for broken buttons and great pressing.
The key difference is the finish: shirt laundry includes pressing for a crisp, ready-to-wear look. Wash, Dry, Fold is for items you want cleaned and folded rather than pressed.
Professional work shirts made of cotton or mostly cotton are the best fit. If you’re unsure about a particular fabric, ask the team before sending it in.
Yes. Shirts go onto pressing equipment while still wet, then are hand-finished and inspected.
Yes. Shirts are inspected for broken buttons during the finishing process. If a button needs replacing, ask the team whether that’s available before placing your order.

Red Hanger offers wash and fold services for regular everyday laundry – anything that you don’t need pressed or that does not require dry cleaning – including items such as towels and sheets, anything that can fit into your laundry bag. One way to think about it is do you want your clothes to come back on hangers or not. If so, you should opt for dry cleaning.

We sort your laundry by color but we assume that if you put it in the green bag you want it washed and folded. Make sure you put your dry cleaning items into your yellow dry cleaning bag.

NOTE: We sort your laundry by color but we assume that if you put it in the green bag you want it washed and folded. Make sure you put your dry cleaning items into your yellow dry cleaning bag.

Each bag carries about 3 standard loads of laundry. If you have a small washing machine, this could be as many as 4 loads. If you have an extra large washing machine, this might be closer to one and a half loads. To decide how many laundry bags you need, consider the type of laundry your are washing. Sheets or towels take up more space than whites or colors.

Also, consider how many people are in your home - 1 bag per week should be suitable for 1-2 people on a weekly basis. If you have family, consider 3 bags per week.
As a customer you can always send everyday wash & fold laundry and you will be charged per pound. Or, with everyday laundry subscription service you’ll receive reduced pricing and automatic, monthly billing.

First, measure the outside seam by starting at your hips and measuring past your knees down to the floor. Keep your measuring tape as close to the leg as possible. Once the tape measure reaches the floor, subtract an inch or two from the total length of the out-seam to account for the shoes.

Then, measure the inside seam. Start as close to the crotch line as possible and measure to the floor. To account for shoes, take the same 1-2 inches off the total measurement as you did on the outside seam.

Make a note of the total length you’d like for both the outside seam and the inside seam.
Yes! To get started, measure from your waistline down to your desired hem length while standing up straight. After taking your measurement, create an account so we can process your alteration and keep you updated on your order status.
First, measure your waist following the belt line right above the hips and below the navel.

Then, measure your hips at the meatiest portion of your bum and thighs. Add a finger underneath to ensure your measurement is not too snug.

Lastly, measure your garment’s outside seam by starting at the waist and measure to the current hem. Subtract (or add) the total amount you’d like to hem up (or let out) from the bottom.

Leave a note on your garment with the desired measurements for waist, hips and outside seam.

To measure your neck’s circumference, find the spot on your neck that corresponds to the collar. Keep your head in a natural and level position while sliding the tape measure around your neck just below the Adam’s apple. The measurement should be comfortable but snug. Hold one finger under the tape to allow for breathing room.

To measure the shoulder and sleeve length, start by standing straight and relaxed with arms hanging comfortably at sides. Then, find the bump of the topmost vertebra and begin measuring from the center back of the neck, over the shoulder and down the length of the outer arm. Take the measurement down to the meatiest part of the hand.

Take a measurement of both arms and find an average of the two. Leave a note on your garment of the total length you’d like the shoulders and sleeves to measure.

We add a barcode to every garment that comes into our facilities.

These barcodes get heat-sealed into each piece of clothing and remain in the clothing for the life of the piece. We scan these barcodes multiple times throughout the cleaning process so that we know where each piece is at all times.

Once the credit is emailed to you, you can print and drop it off with your order, place it in your delivery bag, or even just show the staff on your mobile device.

We send messages related to your order via text message. Our route customers receive text messages the evening before asking about your cleaning needs for the next day. Responding to the text is the easiest way to schedule your pick up.
