Warm Bodies, Warm Souls’ Charity Drive

Charity Drive

This time of year seems to hold a little bit of magic. After the leaves change and fall off the trees, the days get shorter and the air gets colder, and snow starts to fall - ushering in the Christmas holiday - a certain feeling seems to overtake the entire world. Christmas and the holidays bring a spirit of love and giving that is incomparable to any other time of year. Despite the crazy hustle and bustle of getting shopping and decorating done, it’s still easy to get carried away in the delight of the holidays including tempting treats, beautiful lights, and the wonderful joy of gift giving. Considering all this, it’s no wonder that a charity drive tends to receive the bulk of their donations during the holiday season! What a wonderful time to give.

It’s not just the spirit of the holidays, though. With the cold winter days and nights that Utah knows so well, it’s hard not to be concerned for the welfare of our friends and neighbors who don’t have the coats, or even shelter that they need in order to keep warm.

Utah had nearly 3,000 homeless residents as of January 2017 and although the number of homeless people has dropped in the last few years, it’s still much too high.

Because of our concern, we’ve teamed up with a couple of local businesses to help ensure the warmth of Utah’s underprivileged and homeless population. We have teamed up with Roger Christensen of Bank of Utah and Kasey Christensen of Arctic Circle to try and make a difference by hosting the sixth annual Warm Bodies, Warm Souls charity drive.

Warm Bodies, Warm Souls is an effort to collect the things needed to help Utahns who would otherwise go without. Along with Bank of Utah and Arctic Circle, we’ve offered up all of our business locations as donation centers where you can bring new or gently used coats, socks, hats, gloves, or even cash.

“We’re thrilled to be part of this organization and to be able to give back to our community.” - President Ryan Fish

All donations are collected and then distributed to nine organizations all over Utah where they can then be given to those in need and make a real difference. The charitable organizations that donations are distributed to are:

  • Joyce Hansen Hall Food Bank in Ogden
  • The Lantern House in Ogden
  • Cache Community Food Pantry in Logan
  • Tremonton Community Pantry in Tremonton
  • New Hope Crisis Center in Brigham City
  • Tabatha’s Way in Spanish Fork
  • Crossroads Urban Center in Salt Lake City
  • The Road Home in Salt Lake City
  • Bountiful Community Pantry in Bountiful
  • Hope Pregnancy Center in St. George
